During his studies of computer sciences at the Technical University in Vienna (TU Wien), CTO Philipp Reisner developed the cluster solution DRBD® that is in the meantime successfully used around the globe. Philipp is an internationally renowned OSS specialist, kernel programmer and eminent lecturer on high availability at international Linux events. Since computers don’t think, but are just machines, Philipp sees his task as developer in providing intelligent solutions for IT.

This is Gerhard’s guiding theme when managing the young team of creative open source experts at LINBIT. Before he hit the ground running with LINBIT, Gerhard gained considerable experience in executive sales positions and as managing director of a number of IT companies. Since the establishment of LINBIT, Gerhard has managed to secure a two-digit increase in turnover every year, increasingly relying on an international network of partners.
Before co-founding LINBIT, OSS specialist Clemens Niederreiter worked in the field of technical customer support. In addition, he was active in internet service providing with a focus on Linux services and firewalling. With LINBIT he took right from the beginning on the position of Head of Operations. According to Clemens, the saying of the Greek philosopher Heraclitus that "nothing endures but change" is also applicable in the IT sector.
LINBIT’s OSS specialist, kernel programmer and developer Philipp Richter worked as systems administrator at a finance company for four years, followed by studies of computer sciences at the Technical University in Vienna. During his studies he gained additional practical experience in the field of system-related Unix-programming and networks. "Facts are the weak points of theory", said Helmar Nahr, mathematician. With his support services, Philipp makes sure that such unpleasant facts don’t get out of hand.
Lars Ellenberg, kernel programmer and internationally renowned OSS specialist, has co-authored the high availability solution DRBD® and is thus one of the key contacts within the LINBIT team. Lars sees his main tasks in anticipating potential problems and in detecting new problems at such an early stage that LINBIT’s clients don’t even realize them.
Since early 2012 Peter Lemken is Head of Sales at LINBIT HA and LINBIT IT. As a passionate ham radio operator (DF5JT/OE1FEU) he is a technical minded geek with a love for Open Source Software and the philosophy behind it. Linux is his main operating system since 1998. In his spare time he plays the piano, spends hours at food stores and the stove and devours books at an astonishing rate.
