Business travelers not only fly to Amsterdam and Zurich, but sometimes have appointments at less or little known places. While cosmopolitan cities spoil business people with a wide variety of cultural, sports and culinary options after their meetings, finding an attractive side program has up to now been difficult at less common business destinations.
The concept developed by the Austrian company LOVO.cc is simple, but exclusive. Users have the possibility to sign up via the internet and are asked to provide relatively detailed information on their interests. Their profile serves as a basis for the information and tips sent to them upon request by an automated recommender. Gourmets will thus not run the risk of being directed to McDonalds. LOVO has not been designed as a mass tool, but rather to provide “more"? than common search engines or the phone directory. “More"? does not only imply more comprehensive information, but also better quality information. Therefore LOVO.cc does not automatically copy contents from other online services, but has the information processed and verified by editors before feeding it into the database.
In order to keep this system up and running, LINBIT was commissioned with its implementation and 7/24 operation and has installed failsafe server clusters. LINBIT is also in charge of strategic and tactical monitoring of the web and database servers.
“Thanks to LINBIT’s IT solution, the infrastructure has been designed to allow for an increase in page impressions from today’s 100,000 to 100 million without interruption"?, says LOVO founder Roland Fleischhacker.
